• Supervising daily operations of the machine shop, including machining, fabrication, welding, and fitting activities
• Planning, scheduling, and prioritizing workshop jobs in coordination with the Maintenance Manager
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering standards and specifications
• Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to guide workshop activities
• Overseeing maintenance, repair, and manufacturing of plant components, parts, and equipment
• Ensuring proper use, calibration, and maintenance of machine tools and workshop equipment
• Monitoring quality of workmanship and ensuring compliance with required tolerances and standards
• Implementing and enforcing workplace safety procedures and good housekeeping practices
• Supporting breakdown maintenance activities and emergency repairs when required
• Training, mentoring, and supervising machine shop staff to build technical capability and performance
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in machine shop, fabrication, or industrial maintenance environment and in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety standards in an industrial environment
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
• Computer literacy for reporting, job tracking, and maintenance documentation
• Physically fit and able to work in a demanding industrial environment
Trade qualification in Fitting & Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
